St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Nolan Arenado is likely heading to the Baseball Hall of Fame after his playing days end, at the very least he will go down as one of, if not the greatest defensive third baseman in the game of baseball.

And since signing with St. Louis before the 2022 season, Arenado has been as productive as usual, even finishing third in NL MVP voting in 2022 behind then-teammate Paul Goldschmidt.

However, it seems as though that Arenado's time with the team is coming to end, and even Nolan himself has acknowledged the fact.

Injuries have Plagued Arenado's 2025 Season

The defensive asset missed all of August and a large chunk of September with a shoulder injury and has a .234 batting average and just 10 home runs, a steep fall-off from Arenado's days with the Colorado Rockies.

According to Josh Jacobs with Redbird Rants on FanSided, Arenado is on the list of three Cardinals players that could be playing their final home games at Busch Stadium in the 2025 season, pinpointing that despite Arenado's greatness, his time in St. Louis didn't reflect it as much.

"On one hand, Arenado is an all-time great and future Hall of Famer, but on the other hand, most of his campaigns with the Cardinals have been underwhelming, and the club didn't win a single playoff game during his time in St. Louis," Jacobs wrote.

The Cardinals are currently 74-79 in the 2025 season, five games out of the final NL Wild Card spot.
