The New York Yankees are without a doubt one of the most stacked teams in Major League Baseball, with four former MVP winners, a Cy Young Award winner in the starting rotation, and plenty of candidates for both awards in the field.
Two-time and reigning AL MVP Aaron Judge has been on his usual tear and could very well be on his way to a third award, assuming the voters don't give leeway to Seattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh, who has been on a tear of his own.
And as one of their MVPs is expected to opt out of the final year of a three-year deal with the team, the Yankee fans shouldn't have anything to worry about.
Cody Bellinger Expected To Stay With Yankees
That one MVP is Cody Bellinger, who was awarded the 2019 award in the National League while he was with the Los Angeles Dodgers, has shown that he is still capable of being a difference maker on a playoff-caliber team.
And according to Bleacher Report's Tim Kelly, Bellinger is expected to opt out of the final $25 million he is supposed to make in the 2026 season, and could easily be looking at a similar deal to the three-year, $80 million deal he signed with the team last year.
"The Yankees should be motivated to retain Bellinger, unless they have a bigger play—such as Kyle Tucker—in mind," Kelly wrote.
