Trent Grisham is one of the top outfielders available on the open market this offseason, and a perennial World Series contender could swoop in for his services.
The Los Angeles Dodgers have been connected as a possible destination for Grisham. The Dodgers have been longing for outfield help outside of Tommy Edman and Teoscar Hernandez, and Grisham fits the bill. Bleacher Report’s Kerry Miller explains why.
“Grisham simply seems like a good fit for them as they mercifully move on from giving Michael Conforto regular playing time in the outfield,” Miller explained. “So bring on Grisham, who has a solid glove, who out-homered every Dodger not named Shohei Ohtani in 2025, and whose left-handed stroke should fare well at Dodger Stadium.”
Grisham enjoyed a career year for the New York Yankees in 2025, smashing a career-high 34 home runs with an impressive .811 OPS. Grisham was part of the trade that sent Juan Soto to the Yankees in December 2023. Formerly a career backup outfielder, Grisham has revitalized his career after a stellar season in the Bronx.
Of course, the Dodgers are one of baseball’s most aggressive teams in free agency every offseason. Already a perennial World Series favorite every year, adding a player of Grisham’s caliber as an insurance policy would make the Dodgers even more loaded than they already are.
