Before the MLB all-star break, the Detroit Tigers were one of the best teams in the league. Well, a lot of things have gone south for them ever since.

At the beginning of September, Detroit had a comfortable lead in the American League Central at 10 1/2 games. That has all dwindled away and the Tigers lost another game to the Cleveland Guardians by a final score of 5-1. Cleveland has an 86-72 record and Detroit has an 85-73 record. The Guardians led the Tigers by one game in the division, and they will play each other again on Thursday night. President of Baseball Operations Scott Harris deserves a lot of blame for this collapse.

Detroit Tigers Fans want Scott Harris Fired

Harris has been in the front office since 2022. This franchise has drafted and developed players well. Some of their farm teams have won championships in the minor leagues during that time span. Well, fans care about what is happening at the MLB level the most. Many Tigers fans are fed up with him after this collapse in the second half of the season.

They felt like he didn't do enough at the trade deadline, especially with the pitching. Some Detroit fans want him fired.

The Tigers are currently the third wild card team in the American League. They have a one game lead over the Houston Astros (84-74). If they were to lose that spot and miss the playoffs entirely, this fanbase is going to continue losing its mind. Even if they miss, this organization is probably not going to fire Harris or even manager A.J. Hinch for that matter.

If Detroit misses the playoffs, this would be the worst collapse in MLB history. Someone in the organization needs to be held accountable if it happens, but they probably won't do anything about it. The Tigers will conclude the season for a three-game set on the road against the Boston Red Sox.
