The BMW PGA Championship, the DP World Tour's flagship event, tees off Thursday at Wentworth Club in Virginia Water, Surrey. Nestled in the western fringes of London — a 20-minute drive from Windsor Castle — Wentworth will host almost every member of Europe's Ryder Cup team.
It's certainly a star-studded event, with only Sepp Straka missing from Luke Donald's Ryder squad (Sepp recently welcomed a child into the world, a beautifully excused absence). The rest of the DP World Tour elite will play in this tournament, not surprising when you consider the past champions. Ryan Fox, Billy Horschel, Tyrrell Hatton and Shane Lowry have all won the BMW PGA Championship over the past few years.
It's also the last event on the UK golf calendar before the European Ryder Cup team departs for New York to face the Americans. Like he did two years ago, Donald will likely use this weekend as a valuable prep for positional pairings and tee times over Europe's first two rounds of the Ryder.
MORE: Who will win the 2025 Ryder Cup?
That Ryder Cup team — like the BMW PGA Championship field — is loaded with talent. Rory McIlroy has enjoyed one of his best years since the 2020s began. Recent PGA Tour Championship winner Tommy Fleetwood has been hotter than any other golfer on the planet over his past few starts. Jon Rahm, Robert MacIntyre and Ludvig Aberg always seem to be in the mix. Hatton and Lowry have already shown they can dominate this tournament.
Then there's Alex Noren, the vice captain of Europe's Ryder team. The Swede recently won the Betfred British Masters, an important precursor to this weekend's tourney. And Aaron Rai, Si Woo Kim, Corey Conners and Patrick Reed — stars from the LIV and PGA Tours — will also be worth watching as the tournament unfolds.
Let's have a gander at the betting odds for the 2025 BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth Club, then let betting expert Sloan Piva outline his picks and predictions for the DP World Tour event.

BMW PGA Championship 2025 best bet to win
Odds correct at start of tournament, click links below to bet.
Rory McIlroy (7/1, AK Bets)
McIlroy has won this event before (2014) and placed consistently high from 2018 through 2024, so he's clearly the best bet to win in 2025. He's arguably the best putter in the world right now, and he's enjoyed plenty of time to prepare for this one. He recently won the Irish Open in a playoff, and he hopes to finish strong this weekend to avenge his playoff loss at this same tournament last year. He has the all-around dominance to take down the field and reward his backers.

BMW PGA Championship 2025 top value bet
Matt Fitzpatrick (24/1, Betfair)
Fitzpatrick has been on a heater of late, with T4s at the Scottish Open and the Open Championship, a solo fifth at the European Masters, a T6 at the British Masters and a T8 at the Wyndham Championship. How can you not get excited about his chances in the BMW PGA Championship!? He's as steady as they come, and if his driver comes in hot he can easily take down this title.

BMW PGA Championship 2025 top long-shot bet
Corey Conners (44/1, Betfair)
While the Canadian will be making his BMW PGA debut, he has the balance of great driving and tremendous short game necessary to emerge victorious from Wentworth. The name of Conners' game is accuracy — from the tee, on approach and on the green — and that kind of across-the-board control can pay massive dividends at this tournament. He finished T4 at the Tour Championship his last time out, his seventh top-10 finish of the 2025 PGA Tour season. Watch him win it all this weekend and land us a huge payday.
BMW PGA Championship 2025 best bet to finish top 20
Justin Rose (13/8, Paddy Power)
Rose has enjoyed an incredible career, including two runner-up finishes and five top-12s at the BMW PGA Championship. However, he has somehow never won this tournament!
Whatever the reason, he just can't seem to get over the top in this one, but we certainly trust him to get close once again. And if he finally emerges victorious, we have some bragging rights to show our mates at the start of next week.
