Which drivers have won F1 sprints in 2025? image

Over the next five race weekends, three of them will be sprints. That means at this weekend's United States Grand Prix, the Sao Paulo Grand Prix and the Qatar Grand Prix, even more points will be up for grabs in this thickening title plot in 2025.

The sprint is ran on a Saturday, following qualification for it which takes places on a Friday, before the main qualifying and grand prix sessions close out the weekend.

In 2025, there will be six sprints in total, with three of them already concluded. But which drivers won those sprints?

China: Lewis Hamilton

Back in March, things looked very different for Ferrari and Lewis Hamilton. In just their second weekend as a partnership, they took sprint pole and dominated the following day's event.

With track position absolutely pivotal around a circuit made up of long-winding turns, the British driver simply pulled away from Max Verstappen, who was eventually overwhelmed by Oscar Piastri's McLaren.

The Australian would not trouble the seven-time world champion, who cruised to what remains his and Ferrari's high point in 2025, as he was disqualified from the following day's grand prix with his underbody floor wearing too much.

Those troubles, concerning how close to the ground the car runs, have impacted the Italian team's disappointing 2025 season.

Miami: Lando Norris

Alike his breakthrough grand prix triumph in 2024, Lando Norris benefitted from the timing of a safety car to take the lead and stay there.

In initially wet conditions, he started behind Kimi Antonelli and teammate Oscar Piastri. But with the Italian driver slipping down the order on the first lap, Piastri led Norris.

But with the track drying, Norris closed in before Piastri swapped his intermediate tyres for wets.

Norris was set to come in a lap after, but the introduction of a safety car, after Fernando Alonso was crashed out by Liam Lawson, ensured that the British driver pitted and retained the lead, one that he would keep until the chequered flag.

Belgium: Max Verstappen

Running a low-downforce setup, that optimised straight line speed and made him more raceable, Max Verstappen split the McLaren drivers in the sprint shootout, before getting in Oscar Piastri's slip stream and dispensing of him during the long run to the Les Combes chicane, on the first lap at Spa.

For the remainder of the event, Piastri and Norris followed the world champion, but could not down his immense nimbleness on the straights. The Dutchman therefore crossed the line to win, thrillingly.
