Who won the F1 race today? Full results, classification from 2025 Hungarian Grand Prix at Hungaroring image

The Hungarian Grand Prix on Sunday was the last before Formula One goes on a month-long break before returning on August 31.

Charles Leclerc took pole position at the Hungaroring as Ferrari enjoyed a contrasting Saturday. Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton suggested he should be replaced after qualifying down in 12th position.

Championship contenders Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris were sitting second and third on the starting grid and were out to put immediate pressure on Leclerc, especially with reigning world champion Max Verstappen down in P8.

However, with the possibility of thunderstorms amid changeable conditions on Sunday, this was a race that was very difficult to call.

Who won the F1 race today?

Lando Norris won the 2025 Hungarian Grand Prix ahead of McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri.

Norris held off a late attack from Piastri over the final few laps at the Hungaroring to claim his sixth win of the season and fourth in the past five races.

Mercedes' George Russell took P3 ahead of Charles Leclerc, who had qualified on pole and led the race for a long stretch before pace deserted him over the closing stages.

Norris' victory was built on a bold one-stop strategy that allowed him to gain the lead before an expert drive to manage his tyres while keeping his rivals at bay. Piastri had a couple of looks over the final three laps but did not seem prepared to risk a collision.

Fernando Alonso was fifth ahead of Gabriel Bortoleto in a resurgent Kick Sauber, with reigning world champion Max Verstappen finishing down in ninth and facing an investigation over a coming-together with Lewis Hamilton in which the Ferrari driver was forced wide off the track.
