When can McLaren secure the 2025 constructors title? image

McLaren sealed their first constructors title in 26 years in the 2024 season, and they could be back-to-back champions with races to spare in 2025.

The Papaya team lead the championship with 584 points, a 324 point gap to challengers Ferrari

Despite Lando Norris' DNF in Zandvoort, the Scuderia team suffered a worse fate as both Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc crashed out and were points-less.

With such a gap, it means McLaren can wrap up the constructors race by the Azerbaijan Grand Prix on September 21.

In order to do so, they have to guarantee scoring the maximum haul of 43 points at the Italian and Azerbaijan Grands Prix -  bringing their total to 670 points.

It seems almost guaranteed for McLaren, unless the unthinkable happens and Ferrari make up the points difference over the next two races.

It's been an incredibly dominant season for the Woking-based team, with 11 race wins and seven one-two finishes.

A constructors win in Baku would be a stark contrast to 2024, where they fought with Ferrari for the trophy up to the last race in Abu Dhabi.

Winning in two races time means McLaren will have seven races remaining in the season to turn their focus to the drivers championship and a fight between their two drivers for their maiden title.
