Emerson Palmeiri was part of West Ham United's victorious Europa Conference League side, but now faces an unceremonious exit from the London Stadium.

The Hammers are a far cry from David Moyes' side that tasted success in Europe; now under Graham Potter, they face a relegation battle this season.

Left-back Emerson has not featured for West Ham this season as they lost their opening two Premier League games catastrophically.

Potter's side lost 3-0 to newly promoted Sunderland before being smashed 5-1 by Emerson's former club, Chelsea.

Now Emerson can escape from West Ham back to Ligue 1, a division he has experience in with Lyon.

Sky Sports has reported that "Marseille are in talks over the signing of West Ham left-back Emerson."

Emerson signing for Marseille could lead to Kostas Tsimikas joining AS Roma

Another Premier League left-back, Liverpool's Kostas Tsimikas, has also been linked with a move to Marseille.

If the French side signs Emerson, then they will unlikely sign Tsimikas as well. However, the Greek international has another option in Serie A.

According to Football Italia, "Roma directors will have a crucial meeting today to learn the terms of Konstantinos Tsimikas’ transfer."
