Frank Lampard began his career at the team he supported, West Ham United, but it was not a rosy experience for the midfielder.
There were accusations of nepotism, as his father, Frank Lampard Sr., and uncle Harry Redknapp were coaches at West Ham at the time.
Lampard went on to join Chelsea and received a hostile reception whenever he returned to Upton Park.
West Ham is now a very different club, playing at the London Stadium and facing a relegation battle.
Graham Potter has come under fire as the Hammers lost their first two Premier League games of the season heavily.
West Ham did beat Nottingham Forest 3-0 just before the international break, but now there are plans for supporter protest against the current ownership.

Appointing Frank Lampard may not be a popular decision
The West Ham board is very unpopular with a large section of their fan base, so appointing a man they used to abuse may not go down well.
However, the Hammers are facing a relegation dogfight, so there may come a time when they need a new man in to keep them up.
According to Football Insider, "West Ham have sounded out Frank Lampard about potentially replacing Graham Potter as their manager."
Lampard has experience managing at the bottom of the Premier League from his time at Everton. He kept them up during the 2021/22 season, but was sacked the following campaign.
The Championship is the league that seems to suit Lampard best. He took Derby County to the playoff final and now has Coventry City fifth in the division.
Chelsea is the club with which he is most synonymous, and he had a mixed first spell managing them before a disastrous stint as their caretaker.
It would certainly be a great story if Lampard were to go full circle and take over at West Ham.
However, it is unlikely that he would leave Coventry right now, and if West Ham would take the gamble on a player despised by certain sections of their supporters.
