Dele Alli was not able to revive his career in Serie A with Como after making just one appearance for Cesc Fabregas' side.

The midfielder is now a free agent and could return to English football, albeit at a lower level than the Premier League

According to the Daily Mail, "Birmingham City, Wrexham, and West Brom have emerged as the favourites in the beauty contest to sign Alli."

Which of the three Championship sides would be the best fit for Dele Alli?

Birmingham City is an ambitious club with American ownership, which includes NFL legend Tom Brady. They have attracted a former England player to their club in the past when appointing Wayne Rooney as manager.

However, Rooney's tenure was disastrous as he was sacked after 15 matches and Birmingham were eventually relegated to League One. Now back in the Championship, the club's hierarchy may be apprehensive about bringing another former England star to the club.

Wrexham also has notable owners in the Hollywood duo of Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds. The Red Dragons have also just been promoted to the Championship, and signing Alli would be a big statement.

The most sensible option for Alli would be to join West Bromwich Albion, who are managed by his former Tottenham Hotspur teammate Ryan Mason. They have had a great start to the season and are second in the Championship.
