Tottenham Hotspur have made some smart signings this summer with the focus on improving their roster after last season debacle especially in the Premier League.
They had a forgettable 2024/25 league campaign as they finished 17th mainly due to injuries and inconsistent form.
The fans expect new manager Thomas Frank to steady the ship in the upcoming season, but they have already suffered a massive blow with James Maddison rupturing his ACL in a preseason friendly against Newcastle United.
The experienced midfielder will miss a substantial chunk of the 2025/26 season as he will undergo surgery in the next few days before starting his rehabilitation.
Amidst all the chaos, former club legend Jermaine Defoe has urged Tottenham to sign Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze, who is also a top target for North London rivals Arsenal.
The England international would be a sensational signing for Tottenham mainly due to his versatility and impact in multiple positions. He would substantially elevate the club's roster quality.

However, earlier reports have suggested that Eze is open to a move back to Arsenal, 14 years later when he was released by the Gunners as an academy graduate.
The 27-year-old has a £68m release clause which is active until August 15, and both the North London outfits are thinking of making a move for the Crystal Palace star.
What did Defoe say about Tottenham signing Eberechi Eze?
Eze had a strong showing for Crystal Palace last season as he finished with 15 goals and 11 assists from 43 appearances across competitions.

However, none of his goals were as important as the one he scored against Manchester City in the FA Cup final to guide the Eagles to their first-ever trophy in the club's history.
The 27-year-old made a strong impression on Defoe who rates him very highly and believes that he is tailor made to play for Spurs.
"Eze is someone who, if this makes sense, is a Tottenham player. He’s someone that plays with freedom, " the ex-Spurs and England striker told talkSPORT.
"You look at the great players over the years that the club have had and technically how good he is, how confident he is, he’s another special footballer.
"If that can happen then, of course, it’s only good for the team because, obviously, when you get these injuries, especially long-term injuries, you need to replace these players."
Tottenham have also shown interest in Jack Grealish, but Everton are currently the frontrunners in his pursuit.
In the meantime, Spurs have reportedly launched a bid for Como's Nico Paz, but it would be a complicated deal with his former club Real Madrid stepping in due to multiple clauses present in the player's contract.
