Real Madrid superstar earns recall to Carlo Ancelotti’s Brazil squad image

Carlo Ancelotti has announced his Brazil squad for the upcoming international friendlies against South Korea and Japan, with one Real Madrid star making a long-awaited return to the Selecao.

Brazil have already booked their spot at next summer’s FIFA World Cup, having picked up vital qualifying wins over Bolivia and Chile during September’s international break.

But the five-time world champions have nonetheless faced criticism for a string of inconsistent performances – something that Ancelotti hopes could be addressed with the return of one of his most trusted attacking players.

Vinicius Junior returns to the Selecao

Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior has been recalled to the Brazil squad after missing out on September’s World Cup qualifiers.

While officially rested, his absence coincided with a dip in club form, prompting speculation that Ancelotti had opted to take him out of the firing line.

Those rumors have now been put to bed, though, with Vinicius back in the mix alongside Real Madrid teammates Rodrygo and Eder Militao.

Elsewhere, Neymar remains sidelined as he continues his recovery from a thigh injury, while Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson, Barcelona winger Raphinha, and PSG defender Marquinhos are also ruled out due to injury.

Ancelotti’s latest squad also includes several Premier League names.

Manchester United pair Matheus Cunha and Casemiro have expectedly been called up, as have Arsenal duo Gabriel Magalhaes and Gabriel Martinelli.

Nottingham Forest striker Igor Jesus and Wolves midfielders Andre and Joao Gomes have also been included in Ancelotti’s 26-man travelling party.

Brazil will travel to Seoul to face South Korea on October 10, before taking on Japan in Chofu on October 14, as preparations continue ahead of next summer’s World Cup.
