Real Madrid have recently welcomed back Jude Bellingham and Eduardo Camavinga from their respective injuries, but Xabi Alonso has new concerns with the health of his players.

Trent Alexander-Arnold started the season as Alonso's preferred right-back, but an injury is said to be keeping the Englishman out for about six to eight weeks.

After Real's first loss of the season to Atletico Madrid, Alonso will be concerned with the fitness of another key defender.

Which defender suffered an injury against Atletico?

Real Madrid confirmed that Dani Carvajal suffered a leg injury, which could keep him out for the next month.

In a club statement, Carvajal's diagnosis was said to be "an injury to the soleus muscle in his right leg."

With his injury, Real are down to no fit right-backs, with Alonso now likely to choose from Raul Asencio or Federico Valverde

Carvajal will miss several games, including an important Champions League fixture against Juventus.

The right back could also miss the first installment of El Clásico this season, with Real and Barcelona set to play on October 26.

Other games that Carvajal will miss include Kairat in the Champions League, Villarreal, and Getafe in La Liga.

His return could come on November 2 against Valencia, assuming the right-back doesn't suffer any setbacks in his recovery.
