Real Madrid bagged a 3-2 win against Borussia Dortmund in the quarterfinal of the Club World Cup on July 5 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
Kylian Mbappe netted the winning goal for Los Blancos with a stunning bicycle kick after being set up by Arda Guler in 90+4 minutes.
This match marked to be Mbappe's second appearance in the Club World Cup as the Frenchman missed all three of Real Madrid's group stage matches after being diagnosed with acute gastroenteritis ahead of their opening match of the competition.
Along with ensuring Real Madrid's qualification to the next stage of the competition, Mbappe also made history for the club with his goal against Dortmund.
Mbappe is now the first and only player in Real Madrid’s history to score in seven different competitions in a single season.
The 26-year-old has found the back of the net in La Liga, the UEFA Super Cup, the Champions League, the Supercopa de Espana, the Copa Del Rey, the Intercontinental Cup, and lastly, the Club World Cup.
