Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has ruled out any possibility of selling Federico Valverde, insisting the midfielder’s €1b [$1.1b] release clause defines his value, according to the Defensa Central.
According to reports, Valverde remains untouchable, and no negotiations will be entertained.
The Uruguayan international has endured a slow start to the 2025/26 campaign but continues to enjoy the full trust of Real Madrid’s management and coach Xabi Alonso.
Valverde has featured in eight matches this season, providing three assists while maintaining a 91.9 percent passing accuracy over 656 minutes and despite not scoring yet, he remains one of Madrid’s most reliable performers.
The midfielder recently attracted some attention after comments about his playing position were interpreted as criticism of Alonso’s tactics but Valverde clarified that his words were misrepresented and expressed frustration that fans could doubt his loyalty.

But according to reports, Valverde continues to command respect as Real Madrid’s second captain and his commitment and intensity in training have made him a role model for younger players.
Valverde, who joined Madrid in 2016 from Penarol, has played 243 La Liga matches, scoring 32 goals and providing 34 assists and is contracted until June 2029 and is seen as a future club captain once Dani Carvajal retires.
