Sean Dyche began his playing career with Nottingham Forest, but never made an appearance for the first team.

His time at Forest may have shaped his career in management, as he was at the club during the legendary Brian Clough's tenure.

After leaving the City Ground, Dyche went on to play for Chesterfield, Bristol City, Luton Town, Millwall, Watford, and Northampton Town.

After retiring as a player, Dyche worked his way up from coaching Watford's U18s to be the assistant manager of the first team under Malkay Mackay.

Mackay then left Watford to join Cardiff City, and Dyche became Watford's manager. He then managed Burnley, whom he helped to two promotions to the Premier League.

Dyche's last job was at Everton, where he replaced Frank Lampard but was later replaced by the club's former manager, David Moyes.

He has been out of work since and has been linked with the vacant Rangers job. However, that appears to be either going to Steven Gerrard or Danny Rohl.

Dyche could be going full circle and returning to the club where he started his playing career.

Could Sean Dyche return to Nottingham Forest?

The Telegraph has reported that "Dyche is emerging as the front-runner to take over at Nottingham Forest should owner Evangelos Marinakis decide to cut his losses on Ange Postecoglou."

After qualifying for the Europa League last season, Forest should have built on this, but the club has faced many drastic changes.

Nuno Espirito Santo fell out with the club's hierarchy and was sacked before becoming the new West Ham United manager.

Postecoglou, who won the Europa League with Tottenham Hotspur last season, replaced Nuno, but has not won a game yet.

In his seven games in charge, Postecoglou has drawn two and lost five. Forest are now 17th in the Premier League, so they may need Dyche to come in and steady the ship.
