Group F at the Women's World Cup gave football fans another heavyweight clash early on in the tournament, with Brazil and France locking horns in a memorable group stage match. Remarkably, only one of these teams have gone through.

France's 2-1 victory on a late goal by Wendie Renard put Les Bleues in charge of the group, and they secured their spot in the Round of 16 with a 5-3 win over Panama. Brazil, for whom the legendary Marta has likely played her final World Cup, were held to a draw by Jamaica that saw them crash out at the first hurdle.

Jamaica are still undefeated in the tournament and are now treading new ground at the Women's World Cup, where they will look to make more history in the knockout phase.

Group F winner odds

With France defeating Brazil in the head-to-head matchup on July 29, the French became the overwhelming favourites to win the group and advance to the Round of 16 as the top team from Group F.

Panama were already eliminated, and they were given little chance of an upset.

Group F qualification odds

Brazil were expected to follow France out of Group F, according to the sportsbooks, who really did not see their draw with Jamaica coming.

The Reggae Girlz were 14/1 to progress heading into the final matchday, which highlights what a huge achievement it was.

Group F Round of 16 matchups

The Group F teams that successfully navigate the group stages will then be faced with a knockout-round matchup against one of two teams from Group H, containing Germany, Colombia, South Korea and Morocco.

Germany, one of the favourites for the tournament, are most certainly a team to avoid, but the others in the group look beatable and present an excellent opportunity to qualify for the quarterfinals.
