A place in the FIFA Club World Cup quarter-finals will be on the line as European heavyweights Real Madrid and Juventus face off in a blockbuster clash at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium.

Real Madrid have lived up to expectations so far, cruising to back-to-back victories over Pachuca (3-1) and Red Bull Salzburg (3-0). However, the Spanish giants are set for a stiffer test against a Juventus side looking to bounce back after a bruising group stage finale.

The Bianconeri’s defensive vulnerabilities were exposed in a 5-2 drubbing by Manchester City, raising questions about their ability to contain Madrid’s attacking threats. That leaky backline might tilt the odds in favour of Xabi Alonso’s side, who are brimming with confidence.

The Sporting News looks at the key details ahead of this game, including how to watch the match, kickoff times and the latest lineup news.

Real Madrid vs. Juventus predicted lineups, team news

Group H table-toppers Real Madrid have showcased impressive squad depth throughout their Club World Cup campaign, with contributions coming from all corners of the pitch.

Rising star Gonzalo Garcia has stood out with two goals and an assist, while midfield engine Federico Valverde has matched that goal tally. Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Junior have also made their mark, each notching a goal and assist to their name.

In a boost to head coach Xabi Alonso’s plans, defensive stalwart Eder Militao is nearing a long-awaited return after suffering an injury last November. Even more encouraging, marquee signing Kylian Mbappe has resumed training after missing the group stage due to illness, raising hopes of a timely return for the knockout rounds.

Real Madrid predicted XI (3-5-2, right to left):  Courtois (GK) — Rudiger, Tchouameni, Huijsen — Alexander-Arnold, Bellingham, Valverde, Guler, F. Garcia — G. Garcia, Vinicius.

Injured: None.

As for Juventus, who secured second place in Group G, their campaign has largely revolved around the brilliance of Kenan Yildiz. The Turkish international has netted three times and provided one assist, spearheading the Bianconeri’s attacking efforts.

He’s been ably supported by Randal Kolo Muani and Dusan Vlahovic, who have each struck twice, while Alberto Costa and Khéphren Thuram have both chipped in with a pair of assists.

On the downside, head coach Igor Tudor will continue to be without the services of Arkadiusz Milik and Bremer, both sidelined through injury.

Juventus predicted XI (5-2-3, right to left): Di Gregorio (GK) — Costa, Kelly, Kalulu, Cambiaso, Gatti — McKennie, Thuram — Conceicao, Yildiz, Kolo Muani.
