The football world is gathering its popcorn for the start of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, where a champion of the African continent will be crowned.
Hosted by 1976 champions Morocco, AFCON 2025 will anoint a new king of Africa, with a wide-open field of suitors hoping to take the throne.
2023 champions Ivory Coast will attempt to become the first back-to-back AFCON winners since Egypt won three in a row from 2006-2010, while Morocco look to make it two host nations in a row to lift the trophy. Senegal, Egypt, and Algeria are all in contention as well, and Nigeria hope to make up for their whiff in World Cup qualifying with a positive run.

The main broadcast rights-holder for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in the United Kingdom is Channel 4 who will televise the matches live and for free.
It is the first time Channel 4 will broadcast AFCON, with coverage split between three channels — Channel 4, E4, and 4Seven. Streaming is also available on Channel4.com and the broadcaster's official YouTube page.
