England's plans for October's international window have been hit by a setback with captain Harry Kane ruled out of their friendly with Wales.
The Three Lions take on Wales at Wembley Stadium tonight ahead of a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier in Latvia on October 14.
However, the clash with Craig Bellamy's side will not feature Kane, after he arrived into camp with a minor ankle injury following a stellar start to the 2025/26 campaign with Bayern Munich.
"Harry will miss the [Wales] game, he got a kick in his last match and it's too painful to kick the ball and too risky for him," Tuchel told BBC Sport.
"We'll give him the chance for it calm down and we're convinced he will be ready for Latvia."
With 74 caps in 109 international caps, no squad member can match Kane for experience and output, with Ollie Watkins and the in-form Marcus Rashford the main options to replace him.

Tuchel confirmed one of Jordan Henderson, John Stones or Declan Rice will be captain at Wembley in Kane's absence.

Arsenal star Rice has featured in all five of England's qualifiers under Tuchel - with four starts - with Henderson generally used as an option off the bench and Stones not playing for England since October 2024 due to injuries.
Henderson captained England nine times from 2016 to 2023, before Kane took over the armband, but Rice is the favourite to lead Tuchel's team at Wembley after captaining them once before in a March 2024 draw with Belgium.
