Seattle Sounders vs. PSG lineups, team news, score prediction: UCL champions aim for Club World Cup knockouts image

Seattle Sounders host Paris Saint-Germain at Lumen Field on Monday in what could be the MLS side's final game at the 2025 Club World Cup.

Luis Enrique's European champions were stunned on matchday two as they suffered a 1-0 defeat to Botafogo. However, their emphatic opening victory over Atletico Madrid means they remain in a strong position to qualify for the knockout phase, assuming they do not endure an historic loss on Monday.

Seattle have acquitted themselves well at these finals. After being drawn into a devilishly tough group, they can feel unfortunate not to have taken at least a point from two good performances against Botafogo and Atleti. They now need a sizeable margin of victory on matchday three, and a favour from elsewhere, if they are to progress to the next round.

PSG will hope to have one or two attacking stars back available for this one, which could bode well for their chances of going deep at this tournament.

Seattle Sounders vs. PSG predicted lineups, team news

Seattle need an unlikely set of results to go through — they must beat PSG by three goals and hope Botafogo defeat Atletico Madrid — but they should still start with a strong lineup for what is likely to be a farewell game in front of their own fans.

Coach Brian Schmetzer will probably make a few more changes after mixing up his teams in the first two games. Alex Roldan, Ryan Kent and Jesus Ferreira could all come into the lineup.

Veteran Jordan Morris has missed significant time this season with a lengthy injury, and while he's back in training, he has not got off the bench so far at this tournament. Yeimar Gomez will hope to make an appearance after battling back from a hamstring injury.

Seattle Sounders predicted lineup (4-2-3-1, right to left): Frei (GK) — A. Roldan, Ragen, Bell, Baker-Whiting — C. Roldan, Vargas — De la Vega, Rusnak, Kent — Ferreira

Injured: Bruin (knee), Gomez (hamstring, doubt)
Suspended: None
Yellow card away from suspension: Tolo, Ragen, Rothrock

Luis Enrique rotated his side for the defeat to Botafogo and will likely restore his best XI to give them the best chance of going through.

That means Fabian RuizJoao Neves and Nuno Mendes should all come back in, while there could be a place in the lineup for Bradley Barcola given Goncalo Ramos started both the opening fixtures while his teammate recovered from a knee issue.

Marquinhos may also return to the defence, although he is at risk of suspension for the Round of 16 if he receives a yellow card in this match.

Ousmane Dembele returned to training over the weekend, the forward having missed the first two games with a muscle problem sustained on international duty. However, Luis Enrique is not expected to rush him back.

PSG predicted lineup (4-3-3, right to left): Donnarumma (GK) — Hakimi, Marquinhos, Pacho, Mendes — Neves, Vitinha, Fabian Ruiz — Doue, Barcola, Kvaratskhelia

Injured: Dembele (muscle, doubt)
Suspended: None
Yellow card away from suspension: Marquinhos, Fabian Ruiz

Seattle Sounders vs. PSG score prediction

PSG may have underperformed on matchday two, but it did not throw their chances of going through into significant jeopardy. Win this game, and they have nothing to worry about. They will surely have too much quality for the MLS side.

Predicted score: Seattle Sounders 0-3 PSG
