Saudi Pro League top scorers 2022-2023: Cristiano Ronaldo ranking in Golden Boot race image

Cristiano Ronaldo will end his season without any silverware, with Al Ittihad confirmed as Saudi Pro League champions, and the Portuguese star is trailing in the Golden Boot race.

With just one match left to play, Ronaldo (14 goals) is six goals behind top scorer Abderrazak Hamdallah of Al Ittihad. The Moroccan forward is chasing a third Saudi Golden Boot.

Last year's winner, Al Hilal's Nigerian striker Odion Ighalo (19 goals), and Ronaldo's teammate Anderson Talisca (18 goals) are the only two players realistically within reach.

Saudi Pro League Golden Boot Winners

Below are the top scorers in each season of the Saudi Pro League, dating back to 2007/08, when the league was rebranded from the Saudi Premier League.

Former Saudi Arabia international Nasser Al-Shamrani was the dominant winner in the early period of the league, with five Golden Boot triumphs in seven seasons, from 2007 to 2014.

The bar was raised by Syrian star Omar Al Somah, as he won three successive Golden Boots from 2014 to 2017, before Hamdallah set a new league record of 34 goals, in 2018/19.
