PSG star set for Super Lig move after 'agreement reached' image

In a move that has been quietly building behind the scenes, Milan Skriniar is now on the verge of making his stay at Fenerbahce permanent.

According to Ajansspor, Turkish giants have reached an agreement in principle with PSG.

The deal is said to be worth €12m [$14m] upfront, with an additional €3m [$3.5m] in bonuses, while the defender will continue to earn a salary of €9m [$10.5m], including performance incentives.

Skriniar signed with PSG on a free transfer after leaving Inter Milan in 2023 and looked set to be permanent in the backline after he made 37 appearances in his first season.

Things eventually changed under Luis Enrique as the defender gradually fell out of favour and was loaned to Fenerbahce in January but what followed was a redemption arc for the 30-year-old.

He became a leader in Istanbul, where he scored three goals, provided one assist in 20 appearances, and was praised by fans and coaches for his consistency and tireless work ethic both on and off the pitch

Fenerbahce didn’t want to lose the momentum he built in Turkey and intensified talks, with club president Ali Koç even speaking to PSG’s Nasser Al-Khelaifi during the Champions League final in Munich to speed up the talks and keep Skriniar at the club.

Skriniar returned to Paris this summer, but his future at the Ligue 1 club is non-existent. PSG don’t see him as part of their project, so this is a win-win for all parties, especially Fenerbahce who want to build their defence around him.
