PSG continues to ride the wave of a historic season, and yet, pressure isn’t in their vocabulary.
Following their 4-0 demolition of Atletico Madrid in the FIFA Club World Cup opener, PSG’s players are keeping their focus sharp and their feet grounded ahead of Thursday’s clash against Botafogo, a first-ever competitive fixture between a French side and a South American club.
The Parisians have been on a history-creating spree this season, none bigger than their first UEFA Champions League title, after they defeated Inter Milan 5-0 in the final.
That was their fourth major trophy this season, alongside Ligue 1 (won by a massive 19-point gap), the Coupe de France (3-0 over Reims), and the Trophee des Champions (1-0 vs. Monaco).
But those trophies are a work of the past for goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma as he strives for another title as he downplays pressure.
“The Club World Cup is a very important competition for us; we must continue to remain 100 percent focused to reach the final and the trophy,” he said before the Botafogo clash.

“Everyone is hungry for victories, to win titles; it’s important for now and for next year,”
“It’s positive if everyone is talking about us, isn’t it? For our game, what we’re doing. But we don’t feel that pressure; we don’t think about that but rather about the next match.

Donnarumma opens up about PSG future
Amid all the on-field glory, Donnarumma’s future has remained a hot topic.
With only one year left on his PSG deal, the 26-year-old has attracted interest from Manchester City and Manchester United.
But the Italian goalkeeper struck a hopeful note on Wednesday (June 18).
“We’re advancing, we’re advancing. My agent (Enzo Raiola) is speaking with the club. I’m focused on the match, on the trophy (FIFA Club World Cup), but there is no problem,” Donnarumma told reporters.
