The 2023/24 Premier League summer transfer window has broken new spending ground with clubs racking up over £1.95 billion / $2.45 billion in player purchases ahead of the window closing on September 1.

Treble winners Manchester City are one of seven clubs to spend over £100m/£126m on new faces alongside major investment at Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea, Bournemouth, Newcastle United and Liverpool.

Ahead of the final few days of the window, Chelsea have emerged as both the biggest spenders and income generators, as Mauricio Pochettino has conducted an overhaul of his squad.

Arsenal's move for Declan Rice was the major talking point of the early summer window, but Chelsea's £115m/$144.6m swoop for Moises Caicedo has broken the previous Premier League transfer record, held by his new Blues teammate Enzo Fernandez.

The early weeks of the summer transfer window started slowly for the majority of Premier League clubs with the June international break delaying plans ahead of preseason.
