Premier League fans have fewer than two months to wait until the start of the new season.
The provisional fixture list was revealed on June 18, giving the 20 clubs just under two months to get their preparations in order. The first matchday will see some big games, too.
Last season began with Manchester United defeating Fulham 1-0 at Old Trafford in a Friday-night game. In 2025/26, reigning champions Liverpool will begin their title defence at home to Bournemouth on Friday, August 15.
Aston Villa host Newcastle United in the first game of August 16, these two having been part of a thrilling race for Europe last season. Sunderland's first game back in the big time is at home to West Ham, while Burnley visit Tottenham for their opener.
Sunday's play includes Manchester United hosting Arsenal at Old Trafford in the biggest fixture of the opening weekend, before Leeds United return to Premier League action at home to Everton the following Monday.
The Sporting News has the full fixture list for that opening matchday below now that details have been confirmed by organisers.
When does the Premier League 2025/26 season start?
The 2025/26 Premier League season starts on August 15, 2025, with what has become a typical Friday-night game to kick things off. This year, Liverpool will host Bournemouth at Anfield, with the match kicking off at 8 p.m. BST.
The season finishes on May 24, 2026, with all 10 games kicking off at the same time as usual. After this final day, players will have less than three weeks to prepare for the start of the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Sky will also show live coverage of Boxing Day games and, for the very first time, all 10 fixtures on the final day.
TNT Sports will show 52 live matches during 2025/26, which includes the 12:30 p.m. Saturday kick-offs. Amazon Prime does not have any rights for games for this coming season.
