Newcastle United have reportedly finally agreed a deal to sign Yoane Wissa from Brentford following a protracted transfer saga.
News emerged late on Sunday that the Magpies had relented and sanctioned a sale of talisman Alexander Isak for a fee of around £125-£130million.
The club's previous stance was said to have been that Isak's departure was predicated on them signing two strikers in this transfer window. Newcastle signed Nick Woltemade from Stuttgart for £69million last week.
And it appears that Wissa will be following Woltemade through the door at St James' Park after Newcastle agreed a fee with Brentford said to be in the region of £55m.

Wissa gets his wish
Brentford had been adamant Wissa was not for sale and were said to have put a valuation of £65m on the DR Congo international.
Wissa made no secret of his desire to join Newcastle and play Champions League football this season, and on Sunday he released a lengthy statement on Instagram, insisting Brentford had made a written commitment that he could leave the club in this window.

Now it appears he will finally get his wish, with the 28-year-old's prospective signing and the arrival of Woltemade helping Newcastle fill the void left by Isak and Callum Wilson.
Unlike Woltemade, Wissa is a proven Premier League commodity with an impressive goalscoring track record.
Wissa scored 19 goals in the league last season, improving on the 12 he netted in 2023-24. Newcastle will hope that his prowess in front of goal can help them kick-start their season after taking two points from the opening three games.
