Eight-time Premier League winners Man City know they can ill-afford to drop any more points as they take on high-flying Bournemouth at the Etihad Stadium.

Pep Guardiola's side stumbled to a 1-0 loss at Aston Villa last weekend, snapping a good run of form and come into Sunday's game nine points off Premier League leaders Arsenal.

There has been a major overreliance on Erling Haaland for goals but midweek saw Jeremy Doku, Omar Marmoush and Rayan Cherki get on the scoresheet in the League Cup win at Swansea.

Bournemouth come into the game having not lost since the opening day and with their eyes set on retaining their second-placed position in the table (they need to avoid a heavy defeat after Liverpool's win against Villa). Andoni Iraola's side have been one of the stories of the season so far and will fancy their chances here.

Can City get back on track in the league or will the Cherries claim their best scalp yet? AllSportsPeople brings you this betting preview complete with the latest tips, predictions and odds.

Man City vs. Bournemouth preview: Who will win?

Bournemouth are a mightily impressive side and have only lost once on their league travels this season and that came in the final minutes at Liverpool back in August.

They have won just once though - at Spurs - and did let in five goals across thrilling draws at Leeds and Crystal Palace. That should be music to Erling Haaland's ears and any help from his supporting cast should see City grab a much-needed win. At the very least, there should be enough goals for a payout from Sky Bet's new customer offer for the match.

Head-to-Head: Man City vs. Bournemouth

  • The clubs have played each other 24 times with City utterly dominant, winning 21 of the games.
  • 15 of those wins have come in the 16 Premier League games between the clubs, with City winning last season's fixture at the Etihad 3-1.
  • Bournemouth's one and only victory over City came exactly a year ago when they won 2-1 at the Vitality Stadium. It ended a 32-game unbeaten run in the league for Pep's side and started a wretched run of form for the then-champions.

Man City vs. Bournemouth Score Prediction

The loss at Aston Villa was just the second time Erling Haaland has failed to score all season and you would put good money on him netting again.

Strangely he has just scored just once in seven games against the Cherries, which means by the law of averages, he is due to score here.

Iraola's side will be a real threat but we're backing the brilliant Norwegian to lead City to a narrow victory on Super Sunday.

Prediction: Man City 2-1 Bournemouth (8/1 with Bet365)

Man City Team News

  • Erling Haaland and Rodri sat out the win at Swansea but both should be fit here with the league's top scorer likely to start and the Ballon d'Or winner on the bench.
  • Rayan Cherki got a goal and an assist in that game as he continues his return from injury but is likely to make way for Phil Foden

Bournemouth Team News

  • Young defender Veljko Milosavljević impressed in the win over Forest but is likely to be replaced by Bafode Diakite here.
  • Evanilson is the only doubt with the Brazilian touch and go following a calf injury.
  • Even if he is fit, the red-hot Eli Junior Kroupi is set to start up front. Aged just 19, he could become just the fourth teenager in Premier League history to score in four consecutive games.

Man City vs. Bournemouth Predicted Lineups

This is how we think these two sides will line up on Super Sunday with Nico Gonzalez returning at the base of midfield for City and Iraola making one change to the side that beat Forest with Bafode Diakite coming into defence.
