Chelsea can move to within a point of Man City in the Premier League title race. If Pep Guardiola's side are in the running, Enzo Maresca's men certainly have a shot as they head to Elland Road tonight.

Leeds had been competitive at the start of this season but the hosts have struggled of late and the pressure is growing on Daniel Farke. On Saturday, the hosts suffered a 3-2 defeat to City, in a game in which they had fought back from 2-0 down to 2-2 at one stage.

Chelsea head to Yorkshire in excellent form, having fought hard for a 1-1 draw with Arsenal at Stamford Bridge despite losing key man Moises Caicedo to a red card. The Blues are unbeaten in four in the league and six behind the Gunners at the top-of-the-table.

AllSportsPeople brings you the latest tips and predictions for today's match, as well as how to claim 50/1 odds for a single goal scored in Liverpool vs. Sunderland at Anfield.

Leeds United vs. Chelsea prediction: Who will win today?

Leeds have been competitive at times this season but they have become overly reliant on home advantage. Chelsea, meanwhile, are often quite deliberate but they showed a different side to themselves with added intensity against Barcelona and Arsenal. The Blues have to be seen as firm favourites and potentially comfortable winners should they maintain that new-found edge.

Head-to-Head Record: Leeds vs Chelsea

  • The most recent edition of this famed rivalry saw Chelsea entertainingly defeat then Championship outfit Leeds 3-2 in the fifth round of the FA Cup in February 2024.
  • That means Chelsea have won four of their last five matches against the Whites, with a 3-0 win for Leeds in August 2022 being sandwiched by victories on either side.
  • Overall, the two sides have played 109 matches with Chelsea coming out on top in 39 of those games but Leeds having the better of it with 40 wins.

Leeds vs. Chelsea Final Score Prediction

Leeds will believe they can use the hostile home atmosphere to their advantage against a Chelsea side susceptible to hot-headed moments but the gulf in quality marks the Blues out as firm favourites. There is also the very real possibility of the Leeds crowd turning and things getting a little bit messy.

Prediction: Leeds 1-3 Chelsea (14/1 with Bet365)

Leeds vs. Chelsea Team News, Injury Updates

Leeds Team News

  • Leeds are now without former Newcastle United midfielder Sean Longstaff as he is dealing with a calf injury that is expected to see him be unavailable until around mid-January.
  • Summer signings Sebastiaan Bornauw and Anton Stach are also issues with the former very unlikely to feature and the latter the subject of a late fitness test.
  • Wales international winger Daniel James had worked his way back to full fitness but the former Manchester United man is now once again sidelined due to a thigh injury.

Chelsea Team News

  • Chelsea have, quite staggeringly, received a red card in six of their last nine matches and the latest sending off, Moises Caicedo, leaves him suspended for this one.
  • That does present a bit of an issue in midfield for Enzo Maresca as both Romeo Lavia and Dario Essugo are missing through injury for the visitors.
  • Cole Palmer returned to the bench against the Gunners at the weekend but it still seems unlikely that the England international will come back into the starting XI here.

Leeds vs. Chelsea Lineups: Predicted Starting XI’s

This is how we think these two sides will lineup at Elland Road, with Cole Palmer primed for a start after coming off the bench against Arsenal. We think Joao Pedro could be the victim of rotation with Liam Delap in line to start through the middle.
