Alexander Isak thanked Newcastle United and their fans for "three unforgettable years" following his transfer deadline day move to Liverpool.
Isak's desire to make the switch to Anfield dominated the summer transfer window, with the Sweden international refusing to train or play for Newcastle in a bid to push through the deal.
Though that approach soured relations between himself and the club, it eventually paid off as Liverpool completed the signing of Isak for a British record fee believed to be in the region of £125million to £130m.
Newcastle filled the void by signing Germany international Nick Woltemade in a club record deal and bringing in Yoane Wissa from Brentford.
The Magpies confirmed Isak's departure with a 37-world statement making no reference to his 62 goals for the club, including the winner against Liverpool in the EFL Cup final.
Yet with the dust settling on his departure, Isak did pay tribute to the club and the fans.

"Together, we have written history and brought the club to the place where it truly belongs.
