Barcelona head into the international break two points behind Real Madrid at the top of La Liga.

Hansi Flick's side suffered their first league loss of the 2025/26 campaign - via a 4-1 defeat at Sevilla - on the back of a midweek slip at home to PSG.

Goncalo Ramos' added time clincher broke Flick's unbeaten start to the season and a stumble in Andalucia only deepened his frustration at the current situation.

Marcus Rashford netted his first-ever La Liga goal, to drag Barcelona back into the contest, with a 2-1 deficit at half-time.

However, the hosts simply picked up where they left off after the restart, with late goals from José Ángel Carmona and Akor Adams.

Flick has previously highlighted concerns over 'egos' in his squad, after negative results, but the German coach insisted this result was more self-explanatory.

"Today I have to accept defeat and keep a positive outlook. We have to change what we didn't do well, especially in the first half," as per reports from Marca.

"We made a lot of mistakes, we didn't control the ball and we didn't play at the level we had to.

"Today was different [not about egos], it was simply about football and scoring goals. If you score them, you win. We didn't do that today. The result isn't good, but we have to keep our heads high and keep going."

The majority of Flick's squad now head away on international duty - before their return to action at home to Girona on October 18 - but there is no confirmation over whether the game be played at the renovated Camp Nou.
