Bayern Munich have been in great form this season as they have won 10 straight games across competition despite their rough summer transfer window and plenty of injury concerns.

The Bavarians have looked like a well-oiled machine under the leadership of manager Vincent Kompany, and the leadership group is only going to increase albeit for a short period.

Bayern Munich legend Jerome Boateng recently retired from professional football and is now looking forward to an internship under Kompany at the Sabener Strasse in the coming months.

The former German defender, who has won several accolades with the Bavarians has reportedly completed his UEFA B license and is focused on learning the minute details in football coaching.

"I've already spoken with him. I can do an internship at Bayern, and I'm really looking forward to it. We just need to find the right time," Boateng told the BILD on his internship under Kompany.

Earlier, Kompany only insisted that the former Germany international is welcome at Bayern Munich for an internship which would only help him understand how coaching works at a big club.

On the other hand, Boateng's addition to Kompany's coaching team albeit for a short period could be beneficial for the players as he brings a lot of experience and understanding.

Boateng enjoyed a successful career at Bayern Munich

Boateng may have gained widespread popularity for his time at Bayern Munich, but the former Germany defender established himself at Hamburger where he shared the dressing room with Kompany.

He moved to Manchester City in 2010 before switching to Bayern Munich in just a year and the move clicked as he became of the mainstays for the Bavarians for the majority of that decade.

In his 10 seasons in Munich, he won nine Bundesliga titles, five DFB Pokal crowns, two DFL Supercups, a couple of Champions League titles and two each of the Club World Cup and UEFA Super Cup.

He was a crucial figure for the German giants in their 2012/13 Champions League triumph under Jupp Heynckes.

Boateng moved on from Munich in 2021, and he joined Lyon on a free transfer and after two seasons in France, he switched to Serie A outfit Salernitana, where he only played seven games before leaving as they got relegated.

The 37-year-old's last stint as a professional footballer was at LASK in Austrian Bundesliga last season following which he didn't get another club and eventually decided to retire and switch to coaching.
