Fabio Borini played in the Premier League for top clubs including Chelsea and Liverpool. However, he played his best football in the division with Sunderland

The Italian began his career with Chelsea and impressed on loan at Swansea City in the Championship.

Borini then returned to Italy, and his form for AS Roma earned him a move to Liverpool.

It did not work out for Borini at Anfield, but he went on to star for Sunderland. Borini even helped Sunderland reach the League Cup final.

The winger then signed for Serie A giants AC Milan, but his career has since been on a downward spiral.

Borini then went to Hellas Verona in Italy's top flight before playing in Turkey with Fatih Karagumruk. Last season, he was with Sampdoria in Serie B.

What does the future hold for Fabio Borini?

Borini's career is now at a crossroads; he can remain in Italy's second division or transfer to an ambitious Saudi Pro League side.

Nicolo Schira posted on X: "#NeomFC and two #SerieB’s clubs have shown interest in Fabio #Borini as a free agent."

It was not said which Serie B teams are interested in Borini, but the riches of the Saudi Pro League would be tempting for the player.

Neom has just been promoted to Saudi Arabia's top flight, and their squad already boasts ex-Arsenal forward Alexandre Lacazette and former West Ham United winger Said Benrahma.

Christophe Galtier would have an impressive front three at his disposal if he could add Borini to his side as well.
