The draw for the quarterfinals of the 2023/24 FA Cup took place on the final matchday of the fifth round on February 28.

Holders Manchester City are already through after destroying Luton Town courtesy of a five-goal performance from star striker Erling Haaland. Last season's treble winners are the firm favourites to lift the trophy again in 2024 and, with Haaland in this sort of form, it's difficult to see anyone stopping them.

Newcastle United will be their next opponents, the Magpies having scraped past Championship side Blackburn Rovers on penalties after a 1-1 draw. They eliminated City from the Carabao Cup early in the season, but this match at the Etihad Stadium feels like a far sterner test.

The tie of the round will see Liverpool and Manchester United face off at Old Trafford. The Red Devils got past Nottingham Forest first, while Liverpool beat Southampton at Anfield. Erik ten Hag's side reached the final last year, where they lost to local rivals Manchester City.

The Sporting News has all the key details on the quarterfinal draw, including the completed fixture list and the projected dates of the matches.

Are there FA Cup replays this season?

The FA stipulated that there will be mandatory replays for games that end in draws up to and including the Fourth Round in 2023/24.

Widespread reports in October suggested that plans to scrap replays in the Third and Fourth Rounds could be introduced as early as the 2024/25 season.
