Sean Dyche is back at Everton with Nottingham in the Premier League, as both sides get an opportunity to build on slender away victories in midweek.

Having beaten Manchester United with 10 men, Everton suffered a 4-1 hammering at the hands of Newcastle last weekend. However, the Toffees then managed to squeeze past AFC Bournemouth 1-0 courtesy of a late Jack Grealish winner.

Sean Dyche became Nottingham Forest’s third manager of the season in October and they have been much-improved since his arrival. After a frustrating 2-0 loss to Brighton at the City Ground last week, Forest bounced back with a 1-0 win against rock-bottom Wolves at Molineux.

AllSportsPeople brings you the latest tips, predictions and betting odds for this clash as we head towards the busy festive period.

Everton vs. Forest prediction: Who Will Win?

It's a difficult one to call so the easiest way to lean is a draw.

Since taking charge of Everton for a second time in January, replacing Dyche, David Moyes has brought greater stability to the Toffees.

Nottingham Forest head to the Hill Dickinson with a blueprint of how to win on the road but the expect it to be a low-scoring and cagey affair.

Head-to-Head: Everton vs Nottingham Forest

  • Everton dealt a blow to Forest’s UEFA Champions League qualification hopes in the most recent outing between these two sides back in April as the Evertonians won 1-0 at the City Ground.
  • That made it three wins in four matches for Everton against Forest and means that this week’s visitors have won just one of the last six meetings between these two sides.
  • Overall, Everton and Forest have clashed on 134 occasions with Everton having won 58 of those matches and Forest coming out on top in 48 games.

Everton vs. Nottingham Forest Score Prediction

Under Dyche, Forest have suffered just two defeats in nine matches across all competitions with some impressive displays on the road of late against Liverpool and away at Wolves. Everton will sit deep and dig in, though, and that may not help the counter-attacking style of the visitors.

An even, low-scoring affair appears quite likely for this one.

Prediction: Everton 1-1 Nottingham Forest (11/2 with Ladbrokes)

  • Having been sent off for slapping teammate Michael Keane against United, Senegal international midfielder Idrissa Gueye remains missing through suspension for the hosts.
  • Keane himself is also a doubt for this one with a few other defensive injury issues such as Seamus Coleman, Nathan Patterson and Jarrad Branthwaite.
  • Tim Iroegbunam picked up his fifth yellow card of the season in their midweek defeat of Bournemouth and so he complicates things by now being suspended, too.

  • They have plenty of other injury issues, though, such as goalkeeper Angus Gunn, full-back duo Ola Aina and Oleksandr Zinchenko, midfielder Douglas Luiz and attackers Dilane Bakwa and Taiwo Awoniyi.
