Burnley vs. Chelsea prediction, lineups, odds, TV and bet builder tips for Premier League clash image

Burnley will be desperate to get themselves a famous win at Turf Moor as they welcome a fallible but still strong Chelsea side to Lancashire in the Premier League this lunchtime.

Burnley have been defensively aggressive and stubborn to play against following their promotion to the top-flight last season after finishing second in the Championship, but their morale will have been hit by gut-wrenching last-gasp defeats to the likes of Liverpool and Man United.

Chelsea went into the November international break on the back of a 3-0 hammering of then manager-less and still winless Wolves. It wasn’t a completely dominant showing but good enough to ensure the inconsistent Blues remained in the top three in the Premier League.

Can Burnley bounce back today and build momentum going into the busy festive period? AllSportsPeople brings you this betting preview  complete with the latest tips and odds.

Burnley vs. Chelsea: Who will win today?

From a neutral’s perspective, Burnley will want to make sure this is a fairly tedious watch. The way Chelsea play, with a desire for dominance of the ball without reckless attacking abandon, could help them with that.

As has been the case against other so-called ‘big six’ sides, though, Chelsea will be expected to eventually pinch a victory at Turf Moor today as they try to keep pace with Arsenal and Man City at the top-of-the-table.

  • The two teams most recently clashed at Stamford Bridge in March 2024 with then Vincent Kompany’s Burnley earning a surprise 2-2 draw before their relegation was mathematically confirmed a few weeks later.
  • Despite that being a positive result for the Clarets, it did extend their winless run of form against Chelsea to 11 matches since winning on the opening day at the Bridge in the 2017/18 season.
  • Overall, the two sides have met on 108 occasions with Chelsea winning 42 of those games and Burnley having won 38.

Burnley vs. Chelsea Score Prediction

Burnley lack quality in the final third, albeit have been able to hurt teams around them. Up against a stronger side such as Chelsea, though, they are unlikely to pose too much threat and the Blues should eventually get over the line.

Prediction: Burnley 0-2 Chelsea (13/2 with Bet365)
