Brazil legend makes World Cup winning claim about Neymar despite recent squad omission image

Brazil bagged a 3-0 win over Chile in the ongoing World Cup Qualifiers on September 4 at Maracana in Rio de Janeiro. The Selecao's victory came with goals from Estevao, Lucas Paqueta, and Bruno Guimaraes, respectively.

Back in May this year, the Brazilian Football Confederation appointed Carlo Ancelotti as their new head coach after the Italian manager was dismissed from his role at Real Madrid.

Brazil's squad for the World Cup Qualifiers this month did not include Neymar. As the 33-year-old star's omission raised questions, Ancelotti explained his decision to be 'technical' while speaking ahead of the match against Chile.

"It was a technical decision based on many factors," as per GOAL.

"Nobody can question Neymar's technical ability. What we assess every day, and for every match, is physical fitness. That applies not just to him, but to everyone."

Now, Brazil legend Ronaldinho has shared his thoughts on Neymar's exclusion, claiming that the Santos graduate's return to the national squad is ‘only a matter of time.’

What did Ronaldinho say about Neymar's return to the Brazil squad?

Ronaldinho not only stays confident about Neymar's return to the national squad, but also claimed that the former Barcelona star will help Brazil 'win the World Cup again.'

"I believe it's only a matter of time. It's Ney - there's no turning back. He'll soon be back with us, helping Brazil win the World Cup again," as per GOAL.

Neymar has not made an appearance for Brazil since October 2023, when he suffered a serious knee injury that kept him out of the pitch for a year.

Ronaldinho also extended his support for Ancelotti and added,

"He only just arrived. I worked with him in Milan - he's a successful coach, full of experience. I wish him the best, and I hope he can guide Brazil back to the very top."

With the win against Chile, Brazil will now face Bolivia in their next World Cup qualifier at Municipal Stadium El Alto on September 9.
