Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid lock horns on Thursday in the second semifinal of this year's Spanish Super Cup.
Barcelona thrashed Athletic Club 5-0 in the first semi to secure their place in Sunday's final in Jeddah. The winners of this Madrid derby will face the Catalans for the trophy.
Madrid were the winners the last time these teams met in the Supercopa back in January 2024, but Atleti thrashed Los Blancos 5-2 in the league meeting back in September. Before then, four of the most recent five La Liga meetings ended in a 1-1 draw, so extra time feels a distinct possibility here.

Atletico Madrid vs. Real Madrid lineups, team news
Robin Le Normand came off the bench against Real Sociedad in their last game and had been tipped to start here in place of the injured Clement Lenglet, but Simeone has gone with David Hancko.
Conor Gallagher, who continues to be linked with a possible January exit, starts in midfield as Pablo Barrios has a muscle issue. A front two of Julian Alvarez and Alexander Sorloth should give Madrid's defence plenty to worry about.
