Arne Slot says he is unhappy with the amount of goals Liverpool have conceded in recent games.

The Reds have suffered three consecutive defeats - with late losses in the Premier League to Crystal Palace and Chelsea, and Galatasaray getting the better of them in the Champions League 1-0.

It's been a very different few weeks for the reigning League champions, and the boss has admitted as such ahead of their game against Manchester United on October 19.

Slot acknowledge that Liverpool have been creating chances and scoring, more so than any other team, but admitted they have been conceding just as much.

He says long balls, or long throws, have been a big task for the team. The tactic has been a major topic of conversation, and one seen on the pitch in many games, as teams attempt to use it for better goal opportunities.

"We have to find answers and the first answer is not to concede so many goals because if it is harder to score your goals, the best thing you can do is not to concede too many goals."

Slot says the reaction needs to be immediate given their run of results, with United traveling to Anfield

"I think it should not matter who we are playing on Sunday. If you've lost three in a row and you wear the Liverpool shirt, it does not matter who your opponent is, you have to react."

Their recent dip has let Arsenal jump to the top of the table by one point. The Liverpool boss said the margins are small, but they need to improve.

"That is part of it, but results don't lie", Slot said.

"If you lose three in a row you have to do better. These players who have experienced so many things don't wake up at night with it, but we have to be aware of it and give a reaction. We have to create habits if we win or lose but after three losses you hope for that spark or one or two percent more from us and our fans on Sunday."

Slot says Manchester United have had good start to season

Upon return from international break, Liverpool host Manchester United in a game that is key to the visitors.

Despite the downward turn in form for Liverpool, it's United who are under threat.

Opta Analyst currently have the Red Devils predicted at just an 11.2% chance of winning away - a stat they will be hoping to defy the odds on.

Speaking on the club's archrivals, Slot said United have been having a better season than the table reflects.

"I look forward to every single Premier League game, but maybe even more to Man Utd, I know how special of a game it is."

"We know it is probably the most watched game all over the world, so special to be a part of it, we have to be at our best."

"United had a better start to the season than the league table is showing, so very interesting game, especially as it's at Anfield."
