Ireland will be looking to build on their last-gasp draw with Hungary when they take on Armenia in a must-win World Cup qualifier in Yerevan.

The Boys in Green battled back from a 2-0 half-time deficit on Saturday night, with Adam Idah grabbing the equaliser deep into added time. Heimir Hallgrímsson will be kicking himself though that his side started so poorly, and then could not fully capitalise when the Hungarians went down to 10 men early into the second half.

Armenia started their campaign with a heavy 5-0 home loss to Portugal and will know a result is needed here if they are to have any hopes of qualification.

The Sporting News has all the latest odds, tips and predictions for this crucial clash.

Ireland lost here in the Nations League just over three years ago, but really should be able to get the win this time.

Away games are never easy for them these days though, so expect it to be tight.

Ireland are favourites to win at 17/20 with Ladbrokes with Armenia back at 16/5. The draw is 5/2.

Armenia vs. Ireland team news

  • Hallgrímsson is unlikely to make many changes, but Adam Idah could come in for Sammie Szmodics after his impact off the bench against Hungary.
  • Matt Doherty has come in for heavy criticism for his display at the weekend, but he is set to keep his place in the backline.
  • Despite being routed by Portugal, Armenia's lineup will probably be unchanged.
