Newcastle United have significantly increased their bid for RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko to £69.7 million plus add-ons, according to Sky Sports.
However, they now face fresh competition from Manchester United for the 22-year-old Slovenia international.
While United are yet to submit an official offer, they’ve made their interest known.
Sesko is reportedly open to both projects, but internal conversations have swayed him slightly toward Old Trafford.
Newcastle, however, are doing their best to convince the striker that St. James’ Park offers a clearer path to development.
The club points to the rapid rise of Alexander Isak, who joined from La Liga in 2022 and has nearly doubled his market value since.

Analysts suggest Sesko could follow a similar trajectory at Newcastle, rather than risk struggling in United’s system—which last season provided inconsistent supply to its forwards.
Among those affected was Rasmus Hojlund, who scored just 10 goals 52 appearances across all competitions. The 21-year-old has publicly vowed to "stay and fight" for his place in Ruben Amorim's side.
What if Sesko proves unattainable for Newcastle?
They reportedly have a backup plan: Paris Saint-Germain’s Gonçalo Ramos.
The Portugal international netted 19 goals last season, averaging a contribution every 72 minutes despite limited starts. He could be available amid PSG’s ongoing tactical reshuffle.
For now, the decision rests with RB Leipzig — but with two Premier League giants circling and bids climbing, Sesko's Bundesliga chapter could soon come to a close.
