Former Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has offered a fresh update over his planned return to management in 2026.
The Frenchman has been without a club since his departure from Los Blancos in May 2021 after winning two La Liga titles and three UEFA Champions League crowns across two spells in charge at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.
UCL success in 2016, 2017 and 2018 meant Zidane became the first head coach to win the tournament three times in a row - and his stock remains high - despite an elongated absence from the game.
Zidane has been linked with taking charge at Manchester United, either side of Erik ten Hag's tenure and the arrival of Ruben Amorim.
Amorim remains under sustained pressure at Old Trafford, despite receiving public backing on future by the Red Devils hierarchy, as he approaches one year in charge in Manchester.
Despite the revival of rumours connecting him to the job, Zidane has hinted there is only one club role on his mind, and the France national team remains his primary ambition.

"I will return, definitely, but I don't know when," he stated.
"It hasn't happened before as I made other choices. Juventus will always be in my heart, it gave me a lot from the beginning when I went there.
"As for the future, I don't know. My feeling is I would like to coach the national team - not necessarily now, but one day, yes."

With Didier Deschamps' contract with France expiring after the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Zidane's timeline looks perfect, as prepares to hold on for his first choice.
Back at United, Amorim's team return to action at arch rivals Liverpool on October 19, with his position potentially reviewed ahead of the November international break.
