Manchester United claimed their second win of the season in their Premier League clash against Chelsea on September 20 at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils' head coach, Ruben Amorim, was unable to lead his squad to an impressive start to the 2025-26 season. Man United, who currently rank 11th in the top flight with seven points in five matches, were also eliminated from the second round of the Carabao Cup by EFL League Two club Grimsby Town last month.

As Amorim's struggles at Man United have continued since taking charge in November 2024, reports about him parting ways with the English club surfaced.

Now, amid these rumours, Amorim has made it clear that he is 'focused only on Manchester,' referring to the Red Devils as his 'only club,' while speaking about Jose Mourinho's recent return to Portugal.

What did Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim say?

Following his dismissal by Fenerbahce in late August, Mourinho signed a two-year contract with Primeira Liga club Benfica, where he started his managerial career 25 years ago.

According to A Bola, Amorim hailed Mourinho as the 'best Portuguese manager,' and said,

"He's the best Portuguese manager, and that won't change. He's always been a very special person in our football, but also in the world, and he opened all the doors for us. I wouldn't be here if it weren't for Jose Mourinho. I think it's going to be a lot of fun for you in Portugal, and we're going to enjoy it."

"But that's the way it is, and we'll be here, watching to see what happens, but focused only on Manchester, and that will be my only club."

Amorim & Co. are now set to face Brentford in their next Premier League game on September 27.
