Manchester United fans saw a little ray of hope when they defeated Chelsea in the Premier League last week.
However, their joy was short lived as the Red Devils succumbed to a 3-1 defeat against Brentford at the Gtech Community on Saturday.
Igor Thiago scored a brilliant brace within the first 20 minutes of the game as United defense completely switched off before Benjamin Sesko pulled a goal back before halftime.
United had a golden opportunity to return to equalize when Nathan Collins conceded a penalty by pulling down Bryan Mbuemo in the penalty area, but Bruno Fernandes was denied at the spot by Brentford goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher.
Later right before the final whistle, Mathias Jensen scored the third goal for the hosts with a thunderous effort from outside the box.
As per Opta, Amorim now has three more defeats in the Premier League (17 defeats) from 33 games in the competition than he had at the Primeira Liga (14 defeats) from 167 league matches in Portugal.

Overall, Amorim has only registered nine wins and seven draws from his 33 Premier League appearances for United, mustering only 34 points with a 27.27%-win percentage.
The Portuguese manager is yet to win consecutive league games with the Red Devils ever since joining the club as manager last season.
What did Ruben Amorim say after the Brentford defeat?
With this defeat, there's a lot of pressure mounting on Amorim who has been criticized for not showing enough tactical flexibility as a manager when his traditional 3-4-3 has been ineffective.
The Portuguese manager suggested that his team were second best on most occasions against Brentford and therefore they suffered this defeat.

"Of course we want to win. We didn't control the game. We played the Brentford's game - first balls, second balls, set pieces. All of the crucial moments were against us," Amorim told the reporters at the post-match press conference.
"It's tough to lose again, but we need to think about the next game.
"The first goal was a long ball. We worked on that in the week, and we worked on set pieces. We knew the long balls [were going to come], but one touch and they had the opportunity. We need to do better.
"We didn't play our game. We had control for some moments, but it was more or less all the same. We need to play our game, not the opponents', but they were stronger on that."
When asked about pressure of the job after this defeat, Amorim added, "It is always the same to lose at this club, it hurts a lot. We need to think about the next game now."
Manchester United will look to bounce back when they will host Sunderland in the next Premier League clash at Old Trafford on October 4.
