Ruben Amorim is fighting for his future at Manchester United after a poor start to the 2025/26 season at Old Trafford.
The former Sporting CP boss has secured just one win from his opening four Premier League games of the campaign alongside a disastrous EFL Cup exit at Grimsby Town.
Amorim has splashed the cash over the summer after promising United fans the struggles of last season were firmly behind them after ending the campaign in 15th place.
However, the triple arrival of Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko has failed to ignite their form, and Amorim is facing a crucial run of games.
As per the latest update, Amorim has three league games to save his job with United in action against Chelsea, Sunderland and Brentford before the October international break.
Amorim has managed to win just 17 games from 47 across all competitions since his move from Lisbon to Manchester in November 2024 and he could break an unwanted record if he is removed next month.

David Moyes holds the record for the shortest permanent stint as United boss in Premier League history, at 51 games, but removing him may not be straightforward due to a clause in the 40-year-old's contract.
Ruben Amorim's Man United contract, salary, exit clause
Amorim signed a contract until June 2027 after replacing Erik ten Hag last season with his current salary rumoured to be around £6.5m per year.
A report from the Daily Mail indicates the agreement can be extended until 2028 but it also includes a hefty exit clause if ended early.

United could be required to pay Amorim £12m if they sack him before his year anniversary on November 11.
That date falls within the November international window and the club could push a decision back until then to avoid a major pay out.
If Amorim survives until after the October break, he will have another four games to turn the situation around, as United potentially look for a seventh permanent manager since Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement in 2013.
