Casemiro was a very good player for Real Madrid, where he won everything, including the Champions League five times.
However, the Brazilian has looked off the pace since joining Manchester United. He is now 33, so a return to Brazil is a possibility.
The São Paulo-based journalist Jorge Nicola spoke on his YouTube channel that Flamengo is interested in Casemiro.
Would Casemiro be a good fit for Flamengo?
Casemiro remains a Brazilian international with ambitions to play at the World Cup next summer.
He has so far started all of Manchester United's Premier League games. He will want to continue playing at the highest level ahead of the tournament in North America next summer.

A transfer back to Brazil after the 2026 World Cup would then make sense for Casemiro. He could even depart on a free transfer if United do not take up their option to extend his contract for another year.
Casemiro began his career with São Paolo, but Flamengo is currently the best team in Brazil.
Filipe Luis, who had a brief spell playing for Chelsea, is their manager and is very highly rated. He has them at the top of the Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A.
Luis has managed to lure former Premier League players to his squad, which currently contains Jorginho, Danilo, and Emerson Royal. Casemiro would be another welcome addition.
