Manchester United worked to strengthen their attack this summer, bringing in Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and Benjamin Sesko.
The club also signed Diego Leon and Senne Lammens to help their defensive and goalkeeping ranks.
United failed to sign a defensive midfielder, which Fabrizio Romano has revealed as United's focus for the January transfer window.
Ruben Amorim was reportedly adamant that he wanted a midfielder, but no transfer emerged.
Which midfielders could United target in January?
United were interested in a move for Brighton's Carlos Baleba, but the midfielder has a £100m price tag.

The Mancunian club is still keen on Baleba but will likely opt to pursue a cheaper option.
Another summer target was Sporting's Morten Hjulmand, who has already played under Amorim once. The Danish midfielder is under contract until 2028, but his fee should not reach the height of Baleba's.
Crystal Palace's Adam Wharton has also been linked with a move to United, although competition is fierce for Wharton's signature.
Javi Guerra from Valencia and Lucien Agoume from Sevilla were also both linked with United over the summer, with Amorim keen on young talent.
