Manchester United are not wasting time this summer. After a season to forget and no European football on the horizon, the club is now focused on fixing its leaky backline,

And the name at the top of their shopping list? Roma’s Evan Ndicka.

The Ivory Coast international has become a hot target, with reports suggesting that four Premier League clubs are circling.

Despite a tough start for new manager Ruben Amorim, United’s plans to bounce back are already in motion — and strengthening the defense is high on the list.

Ndicka, 25, has impressed with his calm presence and physical strength at the heart of Roma’s defense. Now, he could be heading to the Premier League, where defenders don’t just tackle — they survive week in, week out.

Four-horse race for Ndicka’s signature

According to CaughtOffside, Manchester United have joined Tottenham, Newcastle, and Nottingham Forest in the chase for Ndicka.

The Serie A center-back is valued at around €40 million, a fee that looks reasonable for a player with top-flight and European experience.

Amorim’s arrival signals a shift in system and style. His 3-4-3 setup needs solid defenders who can play out from the back.

With Victor Lindelof nearing the end of his contract and Lisandro Martinez’s fitness still a concern, United are clearly in need of fresh legs at the back.

Tottenham, having beaten United in the Europa League final, are also keeping tabs on Ndicka. Meanwhile, Newcastle and Forest are hoping to add quality and depth to their squads ahead of busy season.

United fans know all too well that titles aren't built on shaky defenses. If they want to get back to the top six, they’ll need to stop conceding goals like it’s a charity drive.
