One former Manchester United forward could be set for a surprising move to Central America, just years after representing The Red Devils.
Per journalist Cesar Luis Merlo, Mexican side Pumas UNAM are keen to bring Anthony Martial to the club.
The Liga MX team want to add the ex-United forward to their squad as one of the designated foreign players before the deadline for league registrations shuts this Friday (September 12).
Martial departed Old Trafford after his contract expired in the summer of 2024, bringing to an end a nine-season stay with the Premier League club.

He then made the switch to Greek side AEK Athens on a free transfer, where he netted nine goals in his debut campaign.
However, the Frenchman is not in his current side's plans for the future so an imminent move away seems probable.

What is currently holding up the deal?
Merlo reports that Martial is allowed to leave AEK Athens on a loan deal, but nothing is advanced as the forward has not agreed to a required wage cut yet.
Pumas are keen to have the former United player available for the remainder of the 2025 Apertura tournament.
The team is currently 10th in the league standings and has 10 matches left to play in the regular phase of the season.
As it stands, Pumas would qualify for the play-in round of the Apertura, so the club will be hoping a potential move for Martial can help maintain their position.
